Her professional interest is identifying disparities in receiving health care and advocating for food insecure families. “The reduction of healthcare disparities is a very complex responsibility but taking steps at a local level is a way we can all participate,” says Azzarello, “Reducing the burden of food insecurity for families provides improved nutrition, but also relieves the hard choices some parents need to make for their families.”
Dr. Azzarello is married to Joe Azzarello who is an environmental engineer, a native to Grand Haven, and a graduate of Michigan Tech. Joe showed Dr. Cathy the Keweenaw Peninsula and they decided to relocate to this beautiful area.
