POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains an efficient and secure patient health information system through duties related to the collection, assembly, analysis, completion, filing, storage, retrieval, and delivery of patient medical records. Ensures the appropriate access to and release of confidential patient information through adherence to hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSING. SKILLS & CREDENTIALING:
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 6-12 months in office setting
- Medical record experience or other related clerical experience, preferred
- Read, write and communicate in English, preferred
- Able to access and input data into computer programs, preferred
- Operate office equipment: computer terminal and printer, telephone, copier, fax machine, preferred
- Able to sequence both simple and complex tasks in the correct order, preferred
- Communicate clearly with other employees, medical staff and the general public regarding health information needs and concerns, preferred
