Student Health Services

Houghton Family Health Center and UP Health System – Portage have partnered to provide Michigan Tech’s student health services.  Located right on campus, The University Center offers a complete spectrum of primary care services, physical therapy, pharmacy, labs, x-ray and sports medicine services.  

While appointments are encouraged for all services, the Houghton Family Health Center provides walk-in appointments for Michigan Tech students.  Walk-in appointments are available Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed Facility.
UGL receives funding from The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims for itself and its covered individuals.
