Suzanne Miron, NP, Joins UGL’s Team of Family Medicine Providers

HANCOCK, MI – Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) welcomes Suzanne Miron, Nurse Practitioner (NP), to their team of Family Medicine providers. She will be serving patients at both Ontonagon Family Health Center and Hancock Family Health Center – Family Practice.

Miron has lived in the Keweenaw Peninsula her entire life. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing at Suomi College in Hancock, MI, and then completed the RN to MSN Program through University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ. Miron then earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from University of Michigan-Flint in Flint, MI.

Miron looks forward to working as a nurse practitioner for UGL. She enjoys the relationship she has formed with patients over the years and likes to help people live life to the best of their ability. Miron says, “The foundation of trust is important so that we can work together to achieve the patient’s health goals through the use of methods that are evidence-based and effective.”

Miron’s scope of practice begins at adolescence and she feels very passionate about preventing and managing chronic disease to obtain the best possible outcome and quality of life throughout adulthood. She has a particular interest in nutrition and helping people prevent the onset of diabetes and teaching people how to manage type 2 diabetes. “As a nurse practitioner, I embrace the whole life of my patients, value relationships and partner with them to reach their health goals,” says Miron, “Providing education is important to me because when people know better, they can do better.”

Miron says she is fortunate to have lived in the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula her entire life. She enjoys hiking in the woods, being on the water and all forms of skiing. Being active outside and enjoying nature is important to both Miron and her husband, Mark. She also loves to read and study, watch movies, cook and be creative.
