UGL Welcomes Sarah Pettibone, MD, to Hancock Family Health Center – Family Practice!

HANCOCK, MI – Sarah Pettibone, MD, has joined the team of Family Medicine providers at Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) in Hancock.

Dr. Pettibone is originally from a very small town in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. She and her family have been drawn to the U.P. in one way or another over the years. Her father and one of her brothers attended Northern Michigan University and she has done a number of clinical rotations in the U.P. She has always appreciated the natural beauty, community and independence of the U.P. way of life. Dr. Pettibone earned both her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience Degree and her Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

Dr. Pettibone is excited and honored to work as a physician in the Houghton-Hancock community. “I really enjoy getting to know my patients and learning what they would rather be doing than seeing their doctor. This helps me put any medical issues into context, so we can work as a team to make their health what they would like it to be,” she says, “Besides that, I try to make every visit as useful as possible. My goal is to listen fully so that every patient is heard.”

In addition to practicing family medicine, Dr. Pettibone has a particular interest and passion for creative writing, reading, gardening and spending time with her family. Her husband is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Finlandia University and her 3 year old son, Henry, loves beaches, bugs and sea creatures.

UGL’s Hancock Family Health Center is located at 500 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI. To schedule an appointment with Sarah Pettibone, MD, call 906-483-1060 (Family Practice).
