Protecting Community Health
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) Serve Rural Areas Like Ours
Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) are public entities or private non-profits that provide high-quality health care to underserved areas or populations.
FQHCs provide comprehensive services, offer discounted care, and have ongoing quality assurance programs. As patient-centered organizations, FQHC governing boards of directors include patients.
As An FQHC We Can
- Provide patients with discounted prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Access the National Health Service Corps, which offers loan forgiveness for providers and nurses and scholarships for students pursuing certain health fields.
- Access the Vaccines for Children Program.
- Qualify for medical malpractice coverage through the Federal Tort Claims Act.
- Apply for and receive grant funds to continue to provide high quality services like integrated care, community health initiatives, and health education at a lower cost to our community.
