Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) Serve Rural Areas Like Ours

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) are public entities or private non-profits that provide high-quality health care to underserved areas or populations.

FQHCs provide comprehensive services, offer discounted care, and have ongoing quality assurance programs. As patient-centered organizations, FQHC governing boards of directors include patients.

As An FQHC We Can

Provide patients with discounted prescription and non-prescription medications.
Access the National Health Service Corps, which offers loan forgiveness for providers and nurses and scholarships for students pursuing certain health fields.
Access the Vaccines for Children Program.
Qualify for medical malpractice coverage through the Federal Tort Claims Act.
Apply for and receive grant funds to continue to provide high quality services like integrated care, community health initiatives, and health education at a lower cost to our community.

Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed Facility. UGL receives funding from The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims for itself and its covered individuals.
