Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) offers services specifically for students at certain UGL locations – medical at Houghton Family Health Center and dental to the students of Sawyer Elementary School.

Medical Services at Houghton Family Health Center

UGL’s Houghton Family Health Center and UP Health System – Portage have partnered to provide Michigan Tech’s student health services.  Located right on campus, The University Center offers a complete spectrum of primary care services, physical therapy, pharmacy, labs, x-ray and sports medicine services.  Click here for more information.

Sawyer Elementary School-Based Dental Program

UGL’s Sawyer Family Health Center staff will be providing dental services to the children at Sawyer Elementary beginning this fall! No more taking time off work to bring your kids to the dentist. Click here for more information.



Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center (UGL) is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is a Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Deemed Facility.
UGL receives funding from The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and has Federal Public Health Service deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims for itself and its covered individuals.
