Upper Great Lakes Family Health staff at their 12 clinics across the U.P are celebrating a rare perfect score achieved during its February 2024 HRSA Operational Site Visit. Nationally, only a few community health center organizations have received this high honor.
Every 3 years, Federally Qualified Health Centers undergo an Operational Site Visit (OSV) conducted by The US Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care. The OSV is an extensive audit broken into three major categories: Clinical/Quality, Governance/Administration and Fiscal Management. The scope of the audit is intense. Every operational aspect of the clinic from community leadership to staff healthcare protocols to healthcare risk management is covered.
“Receiving a perfect score is a major accomplishment not many health centers achieve. I can credit this achievement to our excellent staff, providers who are dedicated to providing a high level of quality care to every patient” said Bailey Patrick, Chief Operating Officer at UGL. “This isn’t about just being great a few days a year. The audit covers performance that is measured across every aspect of our care all year long. Our staff works hard every day at every clinic with every patient to deliver the highest quality care possible. Our perfect OSV audit is an affirmation to every patient at every Upper Great Lakes clinic that the health care our team brings to them is among the very best”.
Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGL) has twelve clinic locations in the Upper Peninsula dedicated to providing high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health to people in our rural communities regardless of their ability to pay. UGL’s clinics employ over 120 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and clinical support staff. UGL is a non-profit, patient-governed and taxpayer-supported organization designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
