Upper Great Lakes Family Health is pleased to welcome Gabby Blevins, CNM, to our Hancock OB/GYN Clinic, expanding access to women’s health and midwifery services for patients and families throughout the Copper Country.
Gabby earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia before completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt University. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife and a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. During her clinical training, Gabby gained experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, gynecology, contraception management, and primary women’s healthcare across a variety of healthcare settings.
Gabby shared that her passion for midwifery began after witnessing the birth of her first niece.
“The strength I saw in my sister-in-law and the support she received during such a vulnerable time was absolutely beautiful,” Gabby shared.
At UGL, Gabby is especially passionate about contraception counseling and management, labor support, and helping patients feel heard and supported throughout every stage of life. She believes strongly in creating meaningful partnerships with patients and providing compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals from all backgrounds.
“Partnership with my patients has always been at the core of my work,” Gabby said. “I want every patient to feel heard, supported, and cared for throughout every stage of life. My goal is to create a safe space where patients feel comfortable sharing anything that may be affecting their health or daily life.”
Originally from East Tennessee, Gabby has also lived in Texas, Georgia, and Arizona before making the move north to the Upper Peninsula. She shared that she has always wanted to experience life in a completely different environment and was excited for the opportunity to live in the north.
Outside of work, Gabby enjoys spending time outdoors running, hiking, and camping. She also enjoys reading and knitting in her free time.
